Has anyone mentioned the lack of nearby eateries?
I live within ten minutes from Husky Stadium by hoverboard.
The proper name of the stadium is "Alaska Airlines Arena at The University of Washington." But everyone calls it Husky Stadium becuase that's where the University of Washington (u Dub) Huskies football team plays.
As has been already mentioned, the immediately adjacent "properties" are Lake Washington
(with a temperature of 50° or less, it is ideal for baptisms. High-beams, anyone? ),
the Lake Washington Ship Canal and University property. If you walk north a good 1/4 mile, you have the "University Village" shopping center with some restaurants and fast food places in and around U Village. There are a couple of local burger joints - Burgermaster and Kidd Valley and a McDonald's, various Pizza places, a GREAT ( and expensive, cheapskates) local steakhouse - Jak's Grill. There are other restarants, but I can't vouch for them.
The closest motel is "Silver Cloud Inn - University District". It is at the north side of U Village, so it might be one kilometer (0.6 mile) from the Stadium. I have absolutely no idea about the availability or the quality of the rooms. I would bet money they do NOT have room service.
About a quarter-mile south of the Stadium on the other side of the canal is a mostly residential area with no fast or slow food for about another mile or so.
I think the WTB&TS saw the relative isolation of the Stadium as a MAJOR appeal. "Keep the audience captive."
